Sometimes we doubt (maybe not intentionally) that God can fulfill His promises toward us, especially when that promise is a big one and seems almost impossible.

I am here to tell you God is capable of fulfilling His promises, be encouraged. He keeps His words.

I’m currently reading the book of Deuteronomy, and I found something encouraging in chapter 2.

In Deuteronomy chapter 2, there were instances where God asked the Israelites to pass quietly for He has given those who currently lived there the land (verses 5, 9, and 19).

“Do not meddle with them, for I will not give you any of their land, no, not so much as one footstep, because I have given Mount Seir to Esau as a possession.”

“Then the Lord said to me, ‘Do not harass Moab, nor contend with them in battle, for I will not give you any of their land as a possession, because I have given Ar to the descendants of Lot as a possession.’ ””

“And when you come near the people of Ammon, do not harass them or meddle with them, for I will not give you any of the land of the people of Ammon as a possession, because I have given it to the descendants of Lot as a possession.’ ””

This shows God truly owns the earth and gives to man as He pleases. He has given people certain lands, industries, and spaces to dominate for their inheritance.

It was also mentioned in verses 21 and 22 how the Lord destroyed the people that formerly occupied those lands so that the new people mentioned in verses 5, 9, and 19 could occupy it as their own.

“(That was also regarded as a land of giants; giants formerly dwelt there. But the Ammonites call them Zamzummim, a people as great and numerous and tall as the Anakim. But the Lord destroyed them before them, and they dispossessed them and dwelt in their place, just as He had done for the descendants of Esau, who dwelt in Seir, when He destroyed the Horites from before them. They dispossessed them and dwelt in their place, even to this day.”

Interestingly, it was mentioned in earlier verses (verses 11 and 12) how these people that God had given the land to, went into that land and destroyed the people there, taking possession of the land.

“They were also regarded as giants, like the Anakim, but the Moabites call them Emim. The Horites formerly dwelt in Seir, but the descendants of Esau dispossessed them and destroyed them from before them, and dwelt in their place, just as Israel did to the land of their possession which the Lord gave them.)”

But we see that in verses 21 and 22, it was God who destroyed the people for them and gave them the land.

Is there a contradiction?

No.

Simply put, God led these people to fight the previous inhabitants of the land, and He assuredly gave them victory.

It’s the same way with the Israelites. God told them He had given them a land they would possess (verse 24), and He said He had delivered the people of the land to them.

“‘Rise, take your journey, and cross over the River Arnon. Look, I have given into your hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land. Begin to possess it, and engage him in battle.”

You would think God would destroy the inhabitants of the land before handing it over to the Israelites. Perhaps He would have used hail or automatically caused all of them to die. But that’s not how God did it.

You see, God caused them to act on taking the land by going to war or fighting with the people of that land. He specifically said in verse 24, “Begin to possess it, and engage him in battle”.

Through that means, God gave them victory as promised. The Israelites acted on God’s instructions, they fought for the land, and the God that gives man victory gave them victory.

Do you see where I’m going with this already?

Sometimes God will tell you that something is your inheritance or you will possess a land or thrive somewhere. Maybe God has told you how you’ll be a force in a certain industry or country, and so on. It will not happen by magic. God has to use something natural to make it happen, thereby causing you victory.

For instance, if God has said you will be an influence in Media, God won’t just let you become popular suddenly, even though He’s capable of doing so.

Usually, God will use something natural to make it happen, but assuredly, victory is yours.

Perhaps God will let you work in a media house, then tell you to start your business and instruct you on how to do it. In all, know that as long as you follow the leadings of God, He is sure to make His promises for you come to pass.

He’s capable.

When the Bible talks about the Earth is the Lord’s, and that the gold and silver are for God, that God removes kings and appoints kings, and that it is God who gives man the ability to make wealth, it wasn’t for nothing.

Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, thought he achieved all he accomplished by his might and strength, but God showed him that He allowed all his accomplishments. To prove to Nebuchadnezzar even more, God humbled him (Daniel 4).

I brought up Nebuchadnezzar’s story to show you that God is in control of the Earth. If someone is thriving in a particular place, he’s aware. So if God has promised you greatness, He can bring it to pass.

God truly is in control. You only have to dwell in His will and leading. Never doubt, no matter how wild and unreal what God has said to you is.

As long as it’s God, it will come to pass. You only need to align to His will and follow His directions.

God is capable, be encouraged.
