Brendan O'Carroll has become a household name with Mrs Brown's Boys, which attracted more than 10m viewers in the UK at its peak and hundreds of thousands more in Ireland.
The sitcom has become a staple of the Christmas schedule for both RTÉ and the BBC over the past decade and looks set to continue for as long as O'Carroll wants to put on the Mrs Brown wig and cardigan.
Finglas-raised comedian O'Carroll had a reported net worth of €11m in 2013, two years after Mrs Brown's Boys first aired and before the release of Mrs Brown's Boys D'Movie, which grossed some $28.8m, and the All Round to Mrs Brown's chat show.
O'Carroll and wife Jennifer Gibney jointly own motion picture and video production company Mrs Browns Boys Ltd, which as of the end of 2022 had current assets of €3.3m, including €42,576 in cash at the bank and in hand.
With nearly €4m owed to creditors though, the company reported net liabilities of €700,134, down from €720,020 in 2021.
Mrs Browns Boys Ltd is the parent of Dublin-registered subsidiaries BOC Productions Ltd, BOC-Pix Ltd and Pennyrush Films Ltd, and Australia-based Mrs Brown's Boys Australia Pty Ltd.
O'Carroll and Gibney received almost €2m from BOC-Pix between 2016 and 2018, and dividends totalling €3m from Mrs Browns Boys Ltd from 2015-20.
BOC Productions, a company set up for the operation of arts facilities, had net liabilities of €3.3m in 2022. Current assets of €289,200 included €283,200 owed by debtors and €6,000 in cash, partly offsetting nearly €3.9m owed to creditors.
The company, which employs 10 and pays wages and salaries totalling €545,400, also listed tangible fixed assets valued at €255,200 after depreciation.
BOC-Pix Ltd, meanwhile, reported shareholders funds of €737,000 and current assets of more than €1m between €986,900 owed by debtors and €59,500 in cash partly offset by €309,400 owed to creditors. Pennyrush Films Ltd reported no financial information.

On the back of the latest specials and the four-episode fourth series that aired in September, O'Carroll will take Mrs Brown's Boys on the road next year with live dates in Dublin, Belfast, Galway Derry and Killarney, which should help next year's accounts.
