How did you get into the profession?
I was temping through an agency at 18, they moved me from an admin role to a finance team and I fell in love with the work. I’ve never looked back!
What do you love most about what you do?
I love meeting lots of different and interesting business owners. Entrepreneurs are the most exciting people to work with and be around!
What is the one thing accountants and finance professionals must do to adapt and remain successful?
As an industry we need to keep looking forwards, not back. The world is changing, and business is changing with it. If we are going to successfully support the next generation, we need to embrace what is important to them.
What advice would you give to someone starting out in the profession?
Don’t over-estimate the importance of the basics. A sound grounding of financial knowledge is a solid foundation for a stand-out business advisor.
Why should people attend Accountex?
I love Accountex! It really represents everything that is amazing about the accountancy profession. You will come out of the room inspired, enriched and ready to take on the world.
