Chopper (C1-10P) has become the fan favorite droid of the era, mostly due to his antics in the Rebels cartoon, but he also appears in the recent Ahsoka series on Disney+. Hasbro has smartly included him in the Retro Collection line, and they have paid attention to the fine details to make this a home run.
First, the Retro Collection card mimics the vintage style card, but with added weathering to differentiate from vintage releases (and Vintage Collection.
The backs of these cards are just GARBAGE. Just miles of multil-language garbage, no storytelling for the figure, not even IMAGES of the other figures in the line.
The Chopper figure itself is great. There was a lot of attention paid to the vintage Kenner style. They even use a decal on the cylinder to show the body details.
The mold details are just soft enough to feel like a vintage release.
The third leg is a removable plug, a feature I wish existed back in the day. the wheel does not move.
The head clicks when turned, just like the old R2 from Kenner.
Seeing "VIETNAM" instead of Hong Kong is a change, but the peg holes are there, and there's even a VISIBLE SCREW up in the hole, holding the head on. Amazing.
