Welcome to another Dan's ToyBox review. Today's featured figure is the Hasbro Marvel Legends Spider-Man: No Way Home Sandman Action Figure. Oddly for a very simplistic figure, this one isn't half bad!

Thomas Hayden Church reprises his role as Flint Marko, the Sandman from the Raimi Spider-Man trilogy. In this story, Marko is one of the spider villains pulled into the MCU when Peter Parker causes Dr. Strange's memory wipe spell to go awry. It's hard to believe that the movie is 2 years old now and we're starting to get some pretty solid offerings on these figures from Hasbro. I'm happy to be able to bring you my thoughts on this figure.

Accessories: 8/10

The Hasbro Marvel Legends Sandman figure from Spider-Man: No Way Home comes with a decent assortment of accessories. The inclusion of two fists, two open/grasping hands, and two oversized hands with wrist effects offers a variety of posing options. The oversized hands with wrist effects add a dynamic element, allowing collectors to recreate iconic scenes from the movie. However, a few more accessories, like sand-based effects or interchangeable heads, would have elevated the figure's accessory score.

Appearance: 9/10

Designed to resemble Thomas Hayden Church, the figure captures the essence of the Sandman character from the movie admirably. The attention to detail in sculpting and minimal paint application is commendable, with intricate textures on the figure's sand-like surface. The figure stands out on the shelf, making it a visually appealing addition to any collection.

Articulation: 6/10

While the figure offers a decent range of articulation, there are some limitations. The joints are well-designed, providing flexibility for various poses. There's really nothing striking about the engineering in this figure, which is kind of disappointing. The head does move easily, left and right as well as looking up and down. There are no butterfly joints, so the only shoulder motion is rotation and a solid T pose. The bicep swivel and double-jointed elbows work fine, and all of the hands can swivel and hinge, including the oversized hands with the forearm extension accessories. The torso joint swivels and tilts side to side but has little crunch range forward or backward. There is no waist joint at all, which makes the lower torso a bit awkward in different poses. The legs will do a decent split, maybe 110 degrees. They can kick forward relatively high and the thigh cuts work fine. The double-jointed knees have nice, long hinges and can bring heel to backside very easily. There is no boot cut, but the ankles do have fantastic range of hinge and pivot motion.

Affordability: 7/10

Considering the overall quality and the fact that it's a part of the Marvel Legends series, the Sandman figure is reasonably priced. Retail price I paid was $25.99. Collectors get a well-sculpted and detailed figure with a good number of accessories for the cost. While affordability is subjective, this figure offers good value for money compared to other figures in the same line.

Overall Grade:

The Hasbro Marvel Legends Sandman figure is a solid addition to any Spider-Man or Marvel collection. Its faithful representation of Thomas Hayden Church's likeness, coupled with a good array of accessories, makes it stand out. While there are minor articulation limitations, the figure's overall appeal and reasonable price make it a worthwhile purchase for fans of the character and collectors alike. Thus, the Marvel Legends No Way Home Sandman Action Figure earns:

7.5 out of 10 ToyBoxes

Hasbro's attention to detail in capturing the Sandman character from Spider-Man: No Way Home is commendable. The figure offers a satisfying balance of aesthetics and playability. Whether you're a movie enthusiast or a dedicated Marvel collector, this Sandman figure is worth considering for your collection. Until next time... GEEK OUT!!!
