They say : ” Words hurt”.
I believe it’s the thought that, a person may perceive you in a certain light, which hurts you most. It’s the constant thought of wondering why would that individual say such about you or towards you.

In actual fact, words cannot hurt any person who doesn’t pay much attention to the negativity that may come from those words. Our minds are our greatest weapons, so, even when, people may intentionally/unintentionally say harmful words, you still have control over your mind, they will never succeed if they cannot access your mind. Be a smart thinker, be aware and always question a situation in the correct criticism.

Hurtful words from the ones we love, hurt the most. How do we combat this negative emotions?  How do we combat feeling worthless ?

We need to learn how to believe in ourselves, in our intentions, as well as the goodness in our hearts and have faith in the goals we want to accomplish.

In life you could ask several people the same question and your result would be several different answers. For example a student may ask 10 individuals :

“which career path would be most suitable for me ?”

Each individual would reply with a different answer. One may say you’d be a great teacher, another may say you’d be a great accountant and a third person may say you’d be a great doctor. However, you as an individual were leaning towards studying journalism.

Now all these opinions confuse you or make you feel insecure about your actual decision. However if you stood firm in what you believed in, the opinions of others wouldn’t have thrown you off course.

Similarly with words, when others are negative towards you, the power is in your hands to stand firm in what you believe in.
