Europe has many cities and countries that are incredibly unique and full of culture and charming architecture. From bistro-style seating to cobblestone streets, it’s a bucket list destination for many. But if you’re unable to fly across the pond to explore Europe, you do have alternative options. Here is my list of US cities that look like Europe!

You may already have heard of Leavenworth, WA and Helen, GA as great mountain towns to visit for a European flair thanks to their Bavarian influence, but there are plenty more to choose from. These architecturally European cities in America aren’t just a German Christmas Market vibe; they’re reminiscent of various parts of Europe.

1. New Orleans, Louisiana

New Orleans, famously known as the “Big Easy,” feels like Europe with its walkable square, beautiful Spanish architecture and French influence, and unique blend of culture. When walking around and snapping pictures of NOLA’s classic French Quarter, you will feel as if you're walking around a city center in Europe. While you’re there, take a food tour to taste the best of New Orleans

2. Catalina Island, California

Enjoy the sun and relax at beautiful beaches with crystal blue waters on this beautiful Europe-esque island. Beach lovers will fall in love with Catalina Island and its sea breeze. And while the Pacific Ocean certainly can’t beat the Mediterranean Sea, it still gives the vibe of Greek islands on a beautiful summer day. Walking around the old town filled with historic buildings and cobblestone streets, you’re guaranteed to feel like you're exploring the streets of Spain. 10. Boston, Massachusetts

Boston is one of the United States' most historical cities and it’s well worth a visit. In the 18th century, Boston was ruled by the British, and when you walk around the city, you are sure to notice the many British charms in its colonial homes and cobblestone streets.

You'll get a taste of London while exploring Boston's famous Boston Public Garden, which happens to be America's first-ever public botanical garden. Go on a harbor cruise and take in this historic city from the water.
