As the Official Travel Partner of the NBA, Hotels.com unveiled today a campaign spotlighting the ultimate road warriors — NBA players — who spend half of the season traveling and staying in hotel rooms. The campaign, Hotel like a Pro™, is headlined by two of the league’s biggest stars: two-time Kia NBA MVP Nikola Joki? and 2023 Eastern Conference Finals MVP Jimmy Butler.Set to premiere during the marquee Christmas Day games, the Hotel like a Pro™ films feature Joki? and Butler as they share their own personal and peculiar hotel hacks with their up and-coming teammates, guard Peyton Watson and rookie Jaime Jaquez Jr. The spots also showcase Hotels.com’s newly launched rewards program, One Key, and the app’s smart shopping feature that helps travelers more easily compare and narrow down hotels in the app.
Known as “The Joker,” Joki? brings a touch of whimsy to the campaign as he combines his love for horses with hotel scouting on the Hotels.com app. A pony stars alongside the Serbian
player and his teammate Watson as they search for pet-friendly hotels.* In another spot, Joki? uses OneKeyCash to plan a trip home to his beloved Serbia — tune in to see if Watson is invited.
Meanwhile, coffee connoisseur Butler, famous for starting a $20-a-cup coffee shop during the 2020 NBA Restart in Orlando, guides Jaquez through the art of comparing coffee, just
like Hotels.com lets travelers compare hotels side by side in the app.
“This campaign is rooted in the insight that being on the road for over 40 games and 40,000 miles every season makes NBA players quite the hotel experts,” said Expedia Group’s
Senior Vice President of Global Marketing Michele Rousseau. “Teaming up with last season’s NBA conference MVPs adds that winning touch, inspiring fans to find their perfect somewhere
and make the most of their hotel stay.”
This season marks Hotels.com’s fourth as the Official Travel Partner of the NBA. Filmed at the Roosevelt Hotel and Fairmont Centry Plaza in Los Angeles, the 10-, 15- and 30-second
films in this season’s campaign will air throughout the season in the U.S. and Canada. Fans will also see branding and campaign elements at arenas around the country and in the NBA2K video
game.
