We are delighted to welcome back Lagos based composer, writer and filmmaker Funsho Ogundipe at the Chimurenga Factory on 27 January 2024 for a rare solo piano performance.
Funsho founded Ayetoro in 1996 as a roving music collective (periodically shuffling between Lagos, London and Accra) to explore the links between Sir Duke’s suites, Electric Miles and late-style Fela. The ensemble performed the inaugural show of the Pan African Space Station in 2008.
For his set at the Factory, Funsho will reinsert stride piano into the rumba/highlife continuum along the Gulf of Guinea.
