Recently, Jay Jody came out and announced the release of his single track titled “Number One” featuring the veteran rapper, Kwesta. The track has been well-received in the South African Hip Hop scene, and fans are still in the process of absorbing and getting acquainted with its unique sound.

However, in a Twitter (X) post, Jay Jody shared an interesting fact about the single mentioning that it only took Kwesta 24 hours to deliver the verse for the track. “Fun Fact: Kwesta recorded & sent back his verse in less than 24hrs. “Number One” Out Now on Digital Platforms,” Wrote Jody.

Now that the track is accessible on music streaming platforms, the father of one declared that it will serve as his final song of 2023. He expressed gratitude to everyone he collaborated with throughout the year. “Thanks for letting me Rap my a*s off this year every record , every feature  So as a token of my Appreciation for rockin’ with me! Ladies & Gentleniggaz … “NUMBER ONE” with @kwesta prod. by Nine2Five E N J O Y !” Said Jay Jody.

With the notable impact he has made on the cultural scene this year, it appears that 2024 holds great promise for the rapper, especially as he prepares to release his debut solo album, titled “Shine O’Clock.” While he has disclosed the tracklist comprising 16 songs, the Pretoria-based rapper has yet to unveil whether any collaborations with other artists will be featured on his forthcoming body of work.
