Travis Scott’s “Utopia” is best-selling hip-hop album of 2023

2023 has been a massive year for Travis Scott, as he released his long-awaited fifth studio album, “Utopia,” in late July. As a result, that went on to debut at number one in the US, on the Billboard 200 chart. Furthermore, it was also the Houston rapper’s third straight number one album, overall.

Meanwhile, Utopia has reached aligned major milestone, to close out the year. It is now the best-selling hip-hop album of 2023. This comes after moving 1.7 million units, and reaching platinum status.

Utopia initially contained 19 Travis in total, including collaborations with SZA, Drake, Kid Cudi, Future, The Weeknd, Rob49, and much more. As a result, fan-favorites have merged, such as “I Know,” “Telekinesis” with Future and SZA, and “Meltdown” with Drake.

Utopia was a long time coming for Travis Scott, as it was his first project in almost five years. His previous one came back in August 2018, which was his “Astroworld” album. At the time, that saw an easy number one debut in the US, and was led by the diamond-certified hit “Sicko Mode” with Drake.

Meanwhile, Travis has now since been venturing on his Circus Maximus-Utopia Tour, as that concluded on December 29, in Toronto. However, the second let of it will kick off on January 3, in Louisville.
