Christmas gives us the opportunity to pause and reflect on the important things around us.

Aging in Place
Do you have an older neighbor who might be spending the Holidays alone? You know them from a distance, say hello when the weather is nice—but seldom during the winter months. Perhaps few if any come to visit, and if they do it might be for services like meals-on-wheels or wellness visits.
The season is a time of giving…View this as an opportunity to do good. I have a suggestion that you can do with your kids. If the neighbor/s live alone there are always things around the house that need tending or updating.
Here is a very practical way to say, “Happy Holidays” and teach your children the true spirit of the season. Gather some cardboard (Amazon boxes), cut out some door hangers (see video) and make some service offering gifts.
For example:
~ GOOD FOR Shoveling snow off your sidewalk
~ GOOD FOR Taking your dog to the dog park
~GOOD FOR Changing all the batteries in your smoke detectors
~GOOD FOR Coffee and Breakfast
~GOOD FOR a Movie out
~GOOD FOR Changing out Light Bulbs
~GOOD FOR 1 Tech Support Afternoon session
~GOOD FOR 1 Decluttering Session or Yard Cleaning
Use your imagination and get creative. Decorate the door hanger and place it there on Christmas morning.
You will remember it for many years to come, as will your kids–and who knows what traditions and magic might develop for having done this one act of kindness.
Merry Christmas!
