The New Year’s Festivities are already underway in many places around the globe, and the LoyaltyLobby team wants to send best wishes to our readers, wherever they might spend their New Year’s Eve.
In North America, it’s still midday on December 31st, and that means tomorrow we are waking up seeing our annual loyalty account counters reset to zero once again.
Every year, there are some nice destinations worldwide where people flock to celebrate New Year Eve, especially if you’re fond of fireworks, but this year, it might still be a little different in some parts of the world as many celebrations have been cut down or canceled altogether.
As the loyalty counters start new for many programs, we suggest double-checking your accounts to ensure that status and previous stays are properly reflected to be all set for the new year.
This past year marked the second full year post-pandemic when most of us were wholly free to travel again. I was lucky enough to travel to North America and Europe, spent 31 days on four cruise ships and visited Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong as well as Japan several times this year alone.
Some countries such as Japan, Hong Kong, Korea and Taiwan had closed their borders for over two years as far as tourism is concerned.
I’m currently in Tokyo, and most official public countdowns, such as in Shibuya, have been canceled yet again. Some hotels have tuned down their NYE program while others, like the Park Hyatt Tokyo, will steam ahead.
We from LoyaltyLobby wish all our readers a happy New Year 2024, safe travels, and a successful hunt for your loyalty rewards in the coming year!
