Dawn-Lyn Blake (Johnson) grew up in Southern Ontario on the Six Nations, First Nation Reserve of the Grand River/Haudenosaunee Confederacy. Dawn proudly represents the Iroquois Nation and identifies as Cayuga & Irish.

In 1998 Dawn graduated from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and served in Saskatchewan and Alberta until 2010. After 12 years with the RCMP she began a new journey with the Tsuutina Nation Police Service and is in her 25th year of policing.

Dawn rose to the rank of A/Inspector by demonstrating her ongoing commitment to community-centred policing, developing programming and crime prevention strategies to strengthen relations between the community, officers and youth and overseeing the Community Impact & Innovation Section.

Dawn continues to advocate for Indigenous people by raising awareness and creating innovative opportunities by writing grants to supplement the financial inequities within First Nations policing.

Dawn loves spending time with her family, two dogs and travelling to hot destinations.
