Whether it’s fashion, nutrition or even alcohol – every year brings its very own trends. What and how we drink is constantly changing. We keep you up to date on everything. Find out here what Cocktail trends 2022 has in store for us.
It’s getting classic again…
In 2022, cocktail trends are moving back to the tried and tested classics. Some of the great experimentation seems to have come to an end and many people tend to prefer to order something they know well. So if you go to a bar in 2022, you might enjoy the evening with classic cocktails like Magarita, Negroni or Martini. In addition, due to the Corona pandemic, many bar operators are buying fewer ingredients, which is why some unusual cocktails are disappearing from the menu for the time being. So it’s back to the roots and maybe next time you’ll order your favourite cocktail among the classic drinks.
Non-alcoholic cocktails
Non-alcoholic cocktails are also very much in vogue in 2022. For a few years now, more and more non-alcoholic versions of popular gin brands have been conquering the market. In the past year, these non-alcoholic gins have become increasingly popular. They are also great for creating delicious mocktails. So we’ll be seeing the non-alcoholic cocktail versions more often when we visit the bar in 2022.
Tequila Cocktails
Tequila is THE cult drink from Mexico, but in recent years it has been consumed rather less in other parts of the world. It seemed to have almost disappeared from the scene, but the Cocktail Trends 2022 speak for a comeback of the agave spirit. More and more popular tequila brands like Teremana or Casamigos are bringing back the spirit’s reputation worldwide. This also means that tequila cocktails will be trendy again in 2022. A cocktail that is particularly suitable for cooling down on warm days is, for example, a fruity Tequila Sunrise.
Tequila Sunrise Recipe:
4 cl Tequila
1 cl Zitronensaft
11 cl Orangensaft
1 cl Grenadine
Living more consciously
The trend this year continues to move towards more conscious and healthier living. This is also reflected in a visit to the bar. Because in future, instead of colourful plastic straws, we will encounter the much more environmentally friendly bamboo versions. Instead of a glass full of ice cubes, we will also be served a pre-chilled glass much more often, and vegan products such as almond milk are increasingly finding their way into our cocktail glass.
Carbonated mixed drinks
So simple and yet so good. Carbonated mixed drinks are really no innovation in the spirits world. Nevertheless, the sparkling drinks are gaining new popularity in 2022. Whether a whisky sour or a rum and coke, these mixed drinks are quick, easy to make and still delicious.
