One may think a remedy for ‘The Januaries’ would be a tropical beach view. But, no. It’s this. Farm fields beyond a hackberry fencerow, foregrounded by an oak, framed by the gray blanket of the sky. This is Ohio in January, and the best thing for it is to get out there and move. Breathe the fresh air. And so I did.

This passage from the traditional Irish blessing is my wish for you on this crusty cold, and yes, gray winter day–

May the road rise to meet you

May the wind be always at your back
