A few weeks ago I conducted a series of public conversations on trauma, stress and the Alexander Technique with my friend, client, trauma survivor, and trauma awareness activist, Shay Seaborne. These are now also being released as podcasts on Body Learning (the Alexander Technique Podcast).

In our first conversation Shay tells us a bit about her own story and experience, how she ended up at my door looking into the Alexander Technique, and some of the specific ways in which it has helped her manage stress and PTSD, and build resilience.

We also share a simple idea you can use right away to help you calm your nervous system and reduce stress.

Having these conversations with Shay about her experience and what she has learned over her many years of dealing with severe developmental and more recent trauma, has been enlightening to me as a professional, and also heartening to know how much BodyIntelligence, my approach to the Alexander Technique, has helped her.

If you have a comment you’d like to share, we’d love to hear from you. Please use the space provided below.
