Today we are talking about my makeup tricks for when you look tired. Which at this point is all the time. But with a few quick moves you can make your eyes look brighter, less puffy, and more awake! Watch my Instagram Reel {linked below} to see how I apply, or read all the details below. This post is sponsored by Nordstrom, but I chose the products to feature and bought the products with my own money.

Products I Use

Here are the some simple tips for makeup to look less tired.

1) Full Coverage Foundation

First step, cover all your imperfections in one fell swoop with a full coverage foundation! In the Reel I used It Cosmetics CC Cream (in shade Fair Light). Great SPF 50+ so this is one of my go-to foundations for daytime.

2) Corrector for Under Eye Circles

A corrector (in addition to concealer) is key when you have dark under eye circles from lack of sleep! The peach or light orange tones of a corrector will cancel out the blue tones of the circles. I am really liking the new Nars Creamy Corrector (in Light)! After I tap the corrector in to blend, I apply the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer (shade Vanilla). Set it all with Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Pressed Powder (in Fair) with the Hourglass Double-Ended Veil Powder Brush.

3) Bronzer In Eyelid Crease

It sounds weird, but I love to use regular powder face bronzer in my eyelid crease. It adds dimension (a/k/a less puffy) without looking like a color or like you are wearing eyeshadow. It sounds counterintuitive, but I tap a little bronzer on my lower lid as well to make my eye look bigger and make the puffiness recede. My favorite bronzer to use for this purpose is the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Bronzer (shade Tan). It is matte, shimmer-free, and has great lasting power!

4) Lift Those Brows

Defining your brows and lifting the hairs into place (straight up) will help lift your tired face and draw the eye upward. First frame out the brow and fill in any sparse areas with a pencil. I like the Charlotte Tilbury Brow Cheat in Taupe (full review here) and the Lancome Brow Define Pencil (in 03 Dark Blonde) equally. Then brush the brow hairs straight up with Lancome Sourcils Styler Brow Gel (I use shade Blonde) for that “laminated brow” look. Adding a bit of highlight under the arch will help lift the brows even more and brighten up the general area. In my Reel I used the Anastasia Double-Ended Brow Highlight Pencil.

5) Lashes and More Lashes

When your eyes are puffy you need your lashes to be even longer and more curled/lifted to stand out and distract from the eyelid puffiness! I started using the Lancome Cils Booster Lash Primer last year and now it is hard to go back to putting mascara on bare lashes! A lash primer adds so much length and volume and really makes your lashes pop. In my Reel I used the Lancome Primer followed by the Diorshow Pump ‘n Volume Mascara.

Lips don’t really contribute one way or another to looking more awake, so your choice on this one! In my video I used Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk (the cult fave nude pink that works on everyone!) and then filled in with Uoma Beauty Badass Icon Lipstick in Kathleen (not making that up! And it is amazing! Matte without being drying at all).
