It may not be summer technically a few weeks away, but Mother Nature apparently has other thoughts as its been in the 90s already. Yes, I live in the southeast Georgia yet the no one is truly ready for the temperature shift that is taking place until it happens. Granted I dont wear as much makeup as I use to since 2020, but then again I think many things in all of our lives changed. The heat and humidity must be combatted with bullet proof makeup. Below are a few of my favorite Summer Beauty Favorites!
Skin Preparation
Starting off with a clean face is key, make sure you use a great face wash, toner and moisturizer. For the summer I like to use a thin face moisturizer that doesnt leave my face greasy. Granted I have oily skin so I dont need any help with oil. However, dehydrated skin will over produce oil, so having a great balance is key.
Foundation
Most may think you night to pack on the makeup to have any left by the end of the day. However, in my experience that just leads to more noticeable melting. The trick is finding a foundation that is pigmented but thin. One way I accomplish this is applying product with a Beauty Blender Pro. Pairing foundation with a primer will help give you the extra support. I honestly prefer a tinted moisturizer for most summer days. It gives me added coverage and SPF. I also like using more cream products for blush and bronzer. Its taking small amounts and layering for a natural appearance. Having thin layers also wears off more naturally and you wont find such harsh lines where makeup is missing at the end of the day. If you plan to skin foundation, just make sure you have sunscreen on your face. My summer beauty favorites work for me, but the trick is finding what works best for you. Foundation is key in my Summer Beauty Favorites!
Setting your face
There are some that can get away without using a setting powder and setting spray. However, that doesnt work for me during the summer. I need to add a small amount of finely milled powder to make sure nothing moves. Dont worry if your face looks too matte, adding setting spray will lock in your makeup and add life back into your face. I cant mention Summer Beauty Favorites unless including setting products.
Summer brings many challenges for my oily skin. However, with temperatures in the 90s and 100s I am not surprised. Most Summer Beauty products verify in working for everyone. However, if this works for my skin I truly believe it will work for many of you. What are your favorite Summer Beauty Favorites? Make sure you leave them in the comments below!
