UK-based project Good Ships presents a compelling sound on new single “Please Don’t Go.” The production meshes pulsing acoustic-laden contemplation and exuberant string-forward pushes, with a title-referencing beckoning sending chills alongside the somber strings’ emergence. “When you lose your head,” they begin during a more downcast sequence, with the “all I know,” spirited escalation thereafter driving into the “please don’t go,” pleading. This is a winning debut from the project; we’re certainly excited for the next one.
