IAU was active in Nepal between 2009-2015 with over 2,000 students between three affiliated colleges. IAU was the first American institution to enter into the Nepal market and the first to introduce online learning on a mass scale.
Now, with TRACS accreditation, IAU re-enters in Nepali academia with its collaborative partner, Model Institute of Technology (MIT), an established institution located at Bagbazar, Kathmandu, Nepal. IAU’s accreditor, TRACS, approved the First International Satellite Campus on December 13, 2023.
The strategic goal is to expand its academic reach, attract a different market of international students from Nepal, and deliver its quality with affordable academic Undergraduate and Graduate programs to an underserved population. The goal is to improve lives through education by opening or advancing career opportunities. Working with MIT, IAU is confident that it can make a positive impact to the citizens of Nepal with its Business and IT related academic programs in future..
Students who study in the International Satellite Campus in Nepal have an opportunity to start in Kathmandu, and then apply to finish their studies with IAU Los Angeles, Irvine, or San Diego, California. For Undergraduate students, this is often called a 2+2 or “top-up” model. This would apply to Graduate students too.
