The Close are an emerging indie-Americana band who made their professional recording debut in 2019 with the EP Hello Heart. That record introduced the musical trio of Shannon Walker, Lori J. Rowton, and James McKinney. Although their sound is rooted in alt-country, the band weaves elements of pop, rock, and traditional folk music into the mix.
Based in Tennessee, fans will often find The Close on the road, touring venues throughout the South. They have released a string of successful singles since their debut, and currently boast nearly 40K monthly listeners on Spotify. Last month they dropped their debut LP.
“Living it Right” is the current single from the band’s brand new album Orbit, released worldwide via all major streaming services on October 27, 2023. An acoustic guitar opens the track as Lori steps to the mic. A full Nashville ensemble enters the mix with a sound that is equal parts Americana and 80’s college rock, as the singer offers an introspective and ultimately inspirational tale of living life to its fullest.
