Rosie is a 2 year old Labrador bitch being fostered in Gloucestershire in adult family home with visiting older children and other dogs. She recently came into our care after being unclaimed from a Council Pound.

She was assessed that first day with other dogs, people etc and never put a foot wrong.

The first day with little Ella who was also released that day from the pound

Over the secure fields with new dogs

Rosie has the most lovely temperament, she is living with 3 other Labs with no problems, has had other dogs visiting and older children and even a baby good as gold. Not sure she has ever lived in a home but she has been clean and learning not to jump up the sides.

Her foster family had visitors at the weekend including children over 10 and she said hello nicely to them including a 3 month old baby very excited to see them but then just chilled out.

Playing with her new foster brother

Beautiful dog inside and out but without any training – so although chilled around the home now and relaxed with the other dogs. Out and about her recall seems to be non existence she is so interested in all the smells, she loves jumping on the walls.

So most of the walks she will be nose down. If she see’s another dog she gets very excited over excited and wants to go over and see them and if the cant she will bark – nothing aggressive but she is very strong at this point. So this is what we have to work on and any new home needs to be prepared to work with her.

Out walking

She has probably never lived in a home but a kennel, she has not be badly treated and loves everyone and every dog so still very puppy just needs guidance and to learn her basic training to begin with. She is built like a Working Lab and has the personality of one, extremely bright and extremely active. She is not your plod around the park dog. She will need a home that matches this and understands her needs.

Just loves a fuss

Also loves a slipper lol

Rosie will need an experienced home who is capable and prepared to put the training into her – another dog for her to play with and someone who is around – no young children as we have no history on her.

Rosie will be vaccinated, spayed, chipped, flea/wormed before she leaves our care.
