As an animal communicator, I find myself engrossed in the field of communicating with animals, the possibilities and the wonderful stories of how this technique has helped animals all over the world. I’m also an avid reader, so when a book on the subject comes along I tend to grab a copy and devour it in its entirety. The same goes for books on reiki and energy work, but I recently came across a book on animal communication that I just had to read.
The book is called The Endless Path and is available from many outlets such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble and the wonderful website www.theendlesspath.com where you can read more and even buy a signed copy by the author.
What is particularly interesting about this book is that it is written by a lovely lady called Laurie Duperier… and her dog Ganimedes! This wonderful collaboration came about thanks to an animal communicator who was able to connect with Ganimedes on a very clear level.
Obviously not everyone is open to the possibilities of animal communication, but when you hear what ‘Gunny’ has to say and it is confirmed by Laurie and her vet then you just have to say ‘wow!’.
“I know now for certain, whether human or animal, we are made of the same stuff, the same consciousness. My advice to people everywhere is ‘do your homework’. Find out who you are and who you want to be inside. To most humans I say, ‘Wake up’ the clock is ticking. Be aware. Be awake. Care more about all of humanity. Care about your home, Mother Earth.”
Ganimedes
I found the book easy to read, insightful and basically a rollercoaster for the emotions, as we follow the journey Laurie and Gunny travel in this life, from the good times to the many difficult issues they had to face together.
Gunny was a chocolate Labrador Retriever who at first appeared to be a normal dog – full of life, big on his food and a loving four-legged companion. However, when Gunny was 11 years old he made contact with a good friend of Laurie’s called Alexandra. She happened to be a clairvoyant who could communicate with animals and at the time was visiting their home.
For the next couple of years, the two of them communicated regularly although it was purely simple things such as what he wanted like a new bed or special toy. However, when he turned 13 he began to talk in a more philosophical way, as if he was more aware of life and death and the world around him and his family.
The communications began to become deeper and more detailed, at a time when he became gravely ill. Unfortunately Gunny had many health issues over the ensuing years and Laurie had lots of tough decisions to make. Thankfully, Gunny had a say in these matters and with Laurie’s determination and deep love for Gunny, they managed several more years together, learning about each other along the way.
The book is deeply moving in places and it touched my soul on many occasions. As we follow the wonderful relationship between the two of them it shows us how animal communication can not only enhance our bond with our pets but also teach us a new found appreciation for animals and how sentient they really are.
Alexandra was able to receive such detailed responses to her questions to Gunny, it seems remarkable to read his words coming from an animal and not a human. But that’s just our mindset. What are animals really thinking? Are they just blank inside, only able to feel with their basic senses? Of course not, we know they think and dream, feel and hear in ways that at times can astound us. Their comprehension of life is way more than most people can imagine.
As Gunny himself puts it, “I hope this book will inspire people. I like to think that this could be a start of the human race understanding the animal kingdom. I hope people will read this to their dogs and cats and horses so they know they have a voice. They can actually be heard. They can communicate their thoughts and feelings. We are all of us alive and are all connected to the same consciousness. Life is life, souls are souls.”
As anyone who has lived with an animal and had to make the difficult decision at the end of their life knows, we never want to let them go. Our pets become a part of the family and we often spend so much money trying to keep them with us. It often gets to a point where we have to let them go for their sake, with the ‘quality of life’ mantra being the ultimate decision maker.
Knowing that our animal friends understand what we are going through, and that they continue in a new life gives us hope and peace. Their physical body may die but their souls continue on a new journey. I like to think of it like owning a car. We get a new car that’s fresh and works great. Over the years we have to take it for servicing and things need fixing, but after a while the engine or another part just cannot be fixed. So we leave the car and go back to the great garage in the sky for a new car! And thus another journey begins.
Reading Gunny’s inspiring words is moving and I found myself finishing the book really quickly, purely because it is a fascinating journey between two soul mates that captures the imagination and is beautifully written. I would highly recommend this book to any person who lives with another animal.
Go team Gunny!
I hope you enjoyed this animal communication book review, it is well worth getting yourself a copy of if you enjoy this kind of thing and want to expand your mind!
