Joined by her real-life friend, Maple is attempting to conquer “New World Online.” They have some fun times in-game and accomplish several challenging quests. These quests seem like child’s play for these video gaming savants. Maple, however, really does not know what she is doing, which makes for an interesting dynamic.
In the game, there are several events in which players can participate, the top performers get attention, and the rest get devoured, lol. The introduction of guilds makes me think of “Log Horizon,” and the general team dynamic resembles SAO in their light-hearted fun attitude.
Bofuri is by far the most anticipated show I look forward to when popping open Hulu. It has action, video game hacks, classic anime tropes, and overall lovely fun energy associated with it.
The main character, Maple, pulls on my heartstrings and lets me enjoy a 20-minute episode every week. I look forward to seeing what crazy overpowered situations she gets herself into, and I can’t wait for the next installment. In terms of the story itself, it is a little light, but the overall entertainment makes up for it. The joy I feel from seeing a comedy OP hero story is a sweet treat as well. I would rate it rather high in regards to this Winter 2020 season as there are only a few shows worth your time.
