The Kingdom anime’s fifth season, which premieres in Japan on January 6 (effectively January 7 at 12 AM JST), has received a main trailer. It includes a preview of opening song “Douka” by DeNeel.
Two more cast members were also announced: Kenta Miyake as Ba Tei and Yoshihisa Kawahara as Ryuutou.
The first season of Kingdom began airing in 2012, while the fourth season debuted in 2022. The anime is based on the Shueisha-published Warring States period-set manga by Yasuhisa Hara. Crunchyroll describes the anime as:
The Kingdom manga began serialization in Weekly Young Jump in 2006 and has 70 tankoubon volumes as of November 2023. Aside from the anime, it has inspired three live-action film adaptations as of July 2023.
