A promotional video released after the broadcast of the final episode of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 on Dec 28, 2023 revealed that a sequel for the anime is under production at MAPPA studio.

The sequel will adapt the Culling Game arc. However, the sequel anime is not confirmed to be series a movie yet, nor has it been termed as Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen.

According to the official website the sequel will depict a battle royale between jujutsu users, orchestrated by the mysterious and evil sorcerer, Kamo Noritoshi (fake Geto).

The new cast members and staff will be announced at a later date.

Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 released on July 6, 2023, and ran for two consecutive cours.

Jujutsu Kaisen is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Gege Akutami. It is currently being serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump since March 2018. The Jujutsu Kaisen chapters are collected and published by Shueisha, with 24 tankobon volumes released as of October 2023.

Season 1 of the anime adaptation by MAPPA aired from October 2020 to March 2021.

A movie adaptation of Jujutsu Kaisen prequel, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 premiered in Japan in December 2021.
