A.P.P.L.E. is pleased to announce the immediately of Jack and the Beanstalk for the Apple II. Originally written for the Amstrad CPC in September 1984 by Steve W. Lucas and published in Amstrad Computer User in January 1985 (No. 3), the game has been ported to the Apple II by Bill Martens.

This game was originally the runner up in the Amstrad Computer User magazine’s monthly software contest and is actually quite a challenge for a BASIC text adventure. Written as a close as possible adventure to the original story, Jack and the Beanstalk, this game is a great example of adventure games of the era. You will find all the twists and turns from the original story, immersing the gamer in the realm of one of the greatest fairy tales of all time.

The game is completely available with disk, source for both the original CPC version as well as the Apple II version and a complete manual which has the map of the game and the solution for those who need extra help with the game. This is a free download and is available to all readers.

You can download the game from here:

The Manual is available here:

Note: Should you experience any issues with the game, feel free to reach out the A.P.P.L.E. with bug reports or fixes.
