Apple has recently announced that starting this week, the App Store will expand to 20 new countries, including:
Afghanistan Bosnia and Herzegovina Cameroon Cote dIvoire Democratic Republic of Congo Gabon Georgia Iraq Kosovo Libya Maldives Montenegro Morocco Myanmar Nauru Rwanda Serbia Tonga Vanuatu ZambiaWe ran the numbers, and population-wise these countries have a combined population of more than 340,000,000 people. Most of them probably dont have an iPhone (yet), but thats still a very large audience increase that will now have access to your apps.
Expanded Global Tracking
Appfigures is tracking all of these countries downloads from day one, so youll have complete and accurate reports across all reports:
Downloads and revenue Subscriptions Reviews (Read, reply, and alerts) Ratings Ranks (with hourly updates) Featured listsDownloads, revenue, and subscription tracking is available as of 4/13. Reviews, ratings, ranks, and features are available as of 4/21.
Log into your account to see if youve had any downloads from any of these countries.
Check Out the Top Apps
In addition to reports for individual apps, were also keeping track of the top app lists in all countries and all categories.
So far it looks like Apple only has enough data to generate top lists for free apps, which means there arent enough downloads of paid apps and arent enough in-app purchases for a top paid and top grossing lists to be generated. As that changes, our Top Apps page will update as well, so keep an eye on it.
FYI Developers need to accept Apples updated developer agreement to have their apps available in those countries. If you havent already you should log into your App Store Connect account and do that.
