The Marco Wilson experience is officially over.
After starting the season as the top cornerback on the roster, Wilsons play earned him a spot on the bench, and today he was officially released from the roster.
Wilson has not played a defensive snap since the Cardinals loss to the Houston Texans, where he played 75% of the snaps.
In fact, since the Seattle Seahawks game, Wilson has seen his snap count slowly decline week to week, until he stopped playing defense altogether.
Now, the Cardinals have Zaven Collins, Rondale Moore and Victor Dimukeje left from the 2021 NFL Draft Class, which looks like another big bust of a class.
Wilson in his time with Arizona started 37 games, had three interceptions, 18 passes defensed and one interception returned for a touchdown in his career.
He allowed 15 touchdowns in his career and his third year stats were actually worse than his rookie stats before being benched.
Marco always had a full tool box, he just never seemed to be able to figure out how to use those tools.
Good luck in your next chapter, Marco.
