The Arizona Cardinals can’t catch a break.
Most of their receivers cannot catch a ball either, but that is neither here nor there.
The team announced today they have put wide receiver Marquise Brown on injured reserve, potentially ending his two-year career in Arizona.
On top of that, they have placed another starting defensive lineman, Jonathan Ledbetter on IR as well.
From the team:
“The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has been awarded its waiver claim on linebacker Trevor Nowaske (no-WAH-skee) from the Detroit Lions.”
“In addition, the team has placed wide receiver Marquise Brown and defensive lineman Jonathan Ledbetter on injured reserve.”
“Nowaske (6-3, 235) played two games this season for the Lions and had one special teams tackle after entering the league with Detroit as an undrafted rookie free agent from Saginaw Valley State. He began the season on the Lions practice squad and was signed to Detroit’s active roster on November 2. The 25-year old Nowaske played 44 games (24 starts) at Saginaw Valley State and had 232 tackles (101 solo), 20.0 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, five interceptions and one forced fumble. “
This season was always going to be a tough one, but the injuries, especially along the defensive front seven and on the offensive weapons side of things has made it even more difficult.
Welcome aboard Trevor, and quick healing to Jonathan and Marquise.
