Intermediaries have now told Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United that they can sign RB Leipzig ace Benjamin Sesko in January with each club interested in a transfer.

The 20-year-old has endured a mixed season since moving to Germany this summer. Sesko has played 22 times and scored seven goals for RB Leipzig so far in his fledgling career with the Saxony side. Yet the striker has only played 698 minutes and has started just six fixtures.

Sesko’s haul includes two goals over the Champions League group stage. He has also taken his tally for Slovenia to 10 in 26 games this term. But 90min now reports that intermediaries are trying to facilitate Sesko a transfer away from RB Leipzig with Arsenal among those keen.

Intermediaries offer Arsenal the January transfer of Benjamin Sesko

Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are all long-term admirers of Sesko, who is also on Newcastle United’s radar. The Premier League sides have all kept close tabs on the Radece-born ace’s development. Now, intermediaries are seeing if either club is interested in a deal.

Representatives of Sesko have approached Arsenal et al to inform those interested that they could sign the striker on loan from RB Leipzig in January with the obligation for a permanent transfer. Scouts also think his skillset is well suited to adapt to playing in the Premier League.

The obligation to buy Sesko may be criteria-dependent, as well, as RB Leipzig’s reluctance to let him leave is limited. Club chiefs appreciate the quick potential to turn a profit with Mikel Arteta among the managers keen to sign an attacker in January given Gabriel Jesus’ injuries.

RB Leipzig have slapped a Ł43.5m price tag on Benjamin Sesko

Reports by Calciomercato at the end of October also credited AC Milan, Arsenal and Chelsea with scouting Sesko. It further claimed that the Gunners and Blues have good relations with RB Leipzig. But they feel their €20m (Ł17.5m) arrival is worth around €45-50m (Ł39-43.5m).

Sesko only joined Die Roten Bullen from their sister side RB Salzburg in July after scoring 29 and assisting 11 goals in 79 games in Austria. Christopher Vivell, who worked with Chelsea earlier in 2023, also said whilst RB Leipzig’s technical director that Sesko is a ‘special’ player.

“Sesko is among the game’s top young talents and has enormous potential to become a top player,” Vivell said, via quotes by Bundesliga.com.

“He has all the qualities to do that. He’s extremely quick, has a great jump on him and is strong in the air. Benjamin is a real goalscorer who, despite his 1.95m (6 ft 4) [height], is mobile and technically strong. His abilities make him a special player with a special profile.”
