Turkish Super Lig clubs Besiktas and Trabzonspor are interested in signing Arsenal right-back Cedric Soares during the January transfer window, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
The Portuguese has fallen out of favour under manager Mikel Arteta, with just two appearances across all competitions to his name this term.
Soares is out of contract at the end of the season, and Arsenal are open to selling him next month.
Besiktas and Trabzonspor have both approached his agent as they look to snap up the 32-year-old, and he is expected to move on having struggled to play under the Gunners boss.
Villarreal are also keen on Cedric having attempted to sign him during the summer transfer window.
More suitors are likely to emerge for the former Southampton star as it is obvious that he is no longer in the plans at Arsenal.
He earns £120,000 per week, and the Gunners will be desperate to save themselves money by letting him go next month.
They could also be willing to terminate his contract in order to let him leave for free and save themselves the hassle of negotiating over a transfer fee, as some of his suitors could prefer to wait until the summer when he will become a free agent.
Cedric joined Arsenal on a six-month loan in January 2020 before the deal was made permanent afterwards, joining as a free agent.
However, injury prevented him from making his debut until July 2020, and Arteta was pleased at the time to finally have him available.
“He’s a different quality in the full-back area than what we have,” Arteta said.
“He’s a gifted, technical player and is probably the best we have in the final third to make the right decision and attack the box as well.
“He can play in a four or a five, he’s a really good player with experience in the Premier League that can help us.”
Things have not gone the way both parties would have wanted in recent seasons, with just six appearances to his name since 2022-23 having made 55 appearances before then, and an exit next month would be beneficial to everyone involved.
