Arsenal are keen on Ajax right-back Devyne Rensch and have been scouting him, according to CBS Sports.

However, they face competition from Liverpool and Manchester United for his services.

The Gunners want to bolster their defence following injuries to Jurrien Timber, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Thomas Partey, and Ajax left-back Jorrel Hato has emerged as a target ahead of the January transfer window.

However, the 17-year-old is not the only one on their radar at the Eredivisie club, with his 20-year-old teammate also a potential target.

While Rensch has largely been used as a right-back this season, he is also capable of playing across the defense.

Man United manager Erik ten Hag knows him well from their time together at Ajax, and it is unsurprising he is eyeing a reunion.

“He has great vision, athleticism and technique, so he has a number of attributes to have an amazing career,” the Red Devils boss once said about the Netherlands international.

He has weighed in with two assists in 13 league games this term and has featured in defensive midfield at times.

Arsenal could do with his versatility and huge talent, but whether a January move is on the cards remains to be seen.

Rensch is comfortable with playing out from the back and is brilliant when it comes to passing, holding on to the ball and tackling.

“I’m a brave player,” he once told GOAL of his qualities.

“I dribble a lot and go past my opponent. Defensively, I have good positional awareness.”

Arsenal need all the help they can get ahead of the second-half of the campaign if they want to win the title, but they may need to wait until the summer transfer window before having a realistic chance of landing Rensch.

Ajax are looking to finish in the European places this term following a shaky start to the campaign, and they want to hold on to their key players to boost their chances.
