Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has made three changes to the starting line-up for today’s Premier League derby against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
The Gunners are winless in the last two games in all competitions and recently suffered a disappointing 2-0 loss to West Ham United at the Emirates Stadium.
They will be aiming to make amends against the Cottagers with a victory. The club can temporarily move to the top of the table by beating their London rivals.
Ahead of the derby, Arteta has made three changes from the surprise loss to the Hammers.
Oleksandr Zinchenko is not in the squad for the game with a minor calf issue. He had a frustrating midweek display where he was guilty of gifting possession many times.
Jakub Kiwior has got the nod to start in the left-back position in his absence.
The other change is in the centre of the park. As expected, Kai Havertz has been reinstated in the number eight role ahead of Leandro Trossard after his suspension.
In attack, Gabriel Jesus has been dropped after a poor showing. The Brazilian was guilty of missing two clear-cut chances in the midweek derby loss at home.
Eddie Nketiah has been picked to lead the line against the Cottagers. The Gunners graduate scored in the 2-2 draw against Marco Silva’s side earlier this campaign.
Confirmed Arsenal line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Fulham: David Raya; Ben White, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Jakub Kiwior; Declan Rice, Kai Havertz; Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli; Eddie Nketiah.
The Gunners are currently two points behind league leaders Liverpool after the shock midweek loss. They can temporarily climb back to the top of the table with a victory today.
There should be a good response from the players after failing to capitalise on clear-cut chances against the Hammers.
Arsenal have received a boost for the game with Takehiro Tomiyasu back on the bench after recovering from a calf injury.
