Then & Now, a group exhibition curated by Kate Enters and presented by ArtCan.org, the prominent artist-led non-profit arts organisation with members across Britain and internationally, on view from December 1st, 2023, to February 1st, 2024 with a virtual opening on December 5th at 20:00 GMT.

This exhibition serves as a profound exploration of artists’ creative trajectories over the past decade, providing a unique insight into the evolution of their artistic voices and expressions.

Within the curated collection, artists’ works serve as reflective mirrors whether capturing the world around them subconsciously or with deliberate intent, these artists utilize their chosen visual language to articulate their perspectives and responses to the unfolding tapestry of time.

“Then & Now” is more than an exhibition; it is a celebration of the intricate visual languages that artists employ to communicate complex narratives. In doing so, the exhibition pays homage to the impact of time and the significant events that have contributed to their artistic expression.

Milverton, Royal Leamington Spa

Each piece exhibited is a testament to the artist’s personal journey—a visual memoir that either recalls the origins and influences that have shaped their artistic identity or boldly asserts their current creative confidence. As the exhibition seeks to engage with a wider audience, it takes a digital leap into the ArtCan virtual gallery, ensuring accessibility to art enthusiasts from various corners of the globe.

An exhibition celebrating the 10 years of ArtCan

Across 10 of the most tumultuous years in modern memory, ArtCan found a toehold, climbed to incredible heights, and is celebrating continued success. Founded in 2013 by Kate Enters as a one-off exhibition among peer artists, ArtCan now represents over 600 members from 26 countries, and organises an annual programme of strong and vibrant collaborative art exhibitions.

Kate Enters was a selector for the ING Discerning Eye exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London in 2022, featured on the Ministry of Arts podcast and, amongst others, in the Artists Responding To and Pratique des Arts magazines. In 2023 she was awarded a Women Entrepreneur Award for the Arts.

“Then & Now” transcends the boundaries of time and space, inviting viewers to embark on a visual journey that transcends the temporal constraints of the past and confidently steps into the boundless possibilities of the present.
