An 18-section foldout containing 143 dyed feathers and a sample book with dyeing instructions.
Dye at the boil with 2-8./0 sulphuric acid 168. Tw. 10-20./0 Glauber’s salt. cryst., depending on the depth of the desired shade. The dyeing process must be repeated until the bath is exhausted and the shades are sufficiently level, which means the feathers must be boiled for about an hour.
After that, thoroughly rinse, dry, and steam (if necessary).
Clean the feathers thoroughly before dyeing. It is best to use a weak, lukewarm solution of olive oil soap with a pinch of ainmonia for this purpose. Tetrapol may be added to the solution as well. After cleaning the feathers, rinse thoroughly and treat as directed above.
