Autumn has arrived but unfortunately, autumn rain has not. We are still in a months-long dry spell that has left our streams at about 20% of typical flow levels. Under normal conditions we would be at least ankle deep in the photo above. Lower temps have permitted some fishing but rain can’t come soon enough. Fortunately I was out with some skilled tenkara anglers (pictured here) and we were able to negotiate the low and spooky conditions well enough to have a wonderful morning and catch some nice fish. If you get out fishing be gentle on the fish, walk softly and carry a…..long tenkara rod!
