Dasique shadow palette swatch & reviewIt has been a since I have ventured back into the cosmetic side of the K-beauty world.  The last time I was in Korea at the beginning of this year, I made it a point to check out the new hot brand called Dasique.  I had to know why everyone was raving about their products and I knew the Dasique eyeshadow palette was the go-to product.  Although they had a ton of color stories to choose from, I ultimately fell in love with two specific palettes which were sold out in so many Olive Youngs.  Finally finding them in a small Olive Young, here we are guys.  I’m just going to spoil the review for you already and say you need this in your life.  Let’s get into why you need this!

Dasique shadow palette #12 warm blending review

Daisque shadow palette #12 warm blending reviewPackaging:
I find all of Dasique packaging to look very elegant and modern.  The clear lid makes it easy to store and grab since you can see all the colors clearly, while the back of the palette always coordinates with the color story.  I’m not sure if it is because of Dasique popularity, but I’m seeing a lot of bigger roadshop brands like Etude House and Holika Holika copying the same palette packaging now to keep up with the trends.

There isn’t a mirror in this palette, which wouldn’t be ideal if you use your compacts a lot on the go.  I personally don’t mind it and it keeps everything nice and light for travel.  This is a simple snap-shut packaging.

Dasique shadow palette reviewColor/ Pigmentation + Texture/ Finish:
I have to admit, this is one of the most boring color stories and one that seems to be overdone, time and time again. The biggest reason why I ended up buying not one, but two fully matte palettes from Daisque is the pigmentation and texture of their powder.  If you have had experience or have been a long-time reader, you’ll know there are some weak points when it comes to K-beauty.  That would be matte eyeshadows always coming out super chalky and not pigmentation, or the lack of diverse shades in foundations even for a population group of majority light-skinned East Asian citizens.

WELL, Dasique BLEW ME OUT OF THE WATERS.  With one swipe of these eyeshadow palettes in Olive Young, I was HOOKED.  These are the most pigmented, buttery soft, and finely milled eyeshadow palettes I have come across in the world of K-beauty.  Heck, this really reminds me of the Sonia Kashuk matte eyeshadow palettes you can find in Target, which I threw away long ago.

Although I know this palette is called “warm blending”, I kind of wish there was a mix of cool-tone browns.  Or if they come out with a fully cool tone nude/ brown palette, I’m DOWN to add that to my collection.  You truly can’t go wrong with having a basic nude palette in your arsenal.  This reminds me of the Urban Decay original Naked Palette which took the beauty industry by storm when it came out.  Why on earth would they discontinue such an iconic and staple palette is beyond me.

Dasique shadow palette #12 warm blending reviewI’m not going to write “warm tone” or “matte” under each color description since they are all warm tones.

Oatmilk: Cream beige
Sweet Ginger: Light rosey brown beige
Ceylon beige: Milk chocolate light brown with hints of rose undertone
Royal blend: Light bronze milk chocolate with orange undertones
Honey Camomille: Light latte brown shade
Rooibos: Medium-tone milk chocolate shade
Rose cinnamon: Medium-tone rosy brown shade
Wood Coaster: True medium brown shade
Black tea mocha: Dark coffee bean brown shade

Dasique shadow palette review #13 cool blending

Daisque shadow palette #13 cool blending reviewPackaging is the same as #12 warm blending, except the base of the palette is a pink color and not brown to match the palette.

Dasique shadow palette #13 cool blending reviewColor/ Pigmentation + Texture/ Finish:
Texture and pigmentation are the absolute same as #12 warm blending.  It is buttery, silky, pigmentation, and just fabulous.  It is also easy to blend but there is a bit of fall out because it is such a finely milled palette.  So make sure to tap your brush off before applying it to your eyes.

I personally find myself grabbing this palette more than the warm palette.  I am kicking myself for not doing the whole color theory test when I was in Korea.  I’m very curious to see what “season” I am, but I think I might be a cool spring or cool summer gal.  I used to think I was warm-toned, however, this cool tone palette matches my complexion better and everything just flows better.

Dasique shadow palette #13 cool blending review Dasique shadow palette #13 cool blending reviewLike up above, I won’t be listing “cool tone” or “matte” in each color description since they are all cool and matte.

Chiffon grey: True light creamy beige
Tender jasmine: Light ballet slipper pink
Earl Grey: Dusty grey with mauve undertones
Taro powder: Dusty mauve pink (this one is my favorite)
Cool wafer: Light pastel pink
Herb blending: Muted rose shade
French grey: Light cappuccino brown
Ash Mauve: Ashy mauve (exactly as the name suggests)
Taupe brown: True taupe brown

Dasique shadow palette #13 cool blending reviewThis is the absolute most boring eye look on planet Earth, I know.  Especially with the works of more prominent beauty Youtubers and such.  I personally love their work but wouldn’t be able to comfortably walk out of the house with that kind of confidence and sass.  So yes, this is boring as f***, however, look at how beautifully seamlessly those eyeshadows blend out.  I did add a little bit of shimmer in the middle of the eye but LOOK!

Dasique shadow palette reviewI haven’t ever come across such pigmented, silky but matte eyeshadows from the K-beauty space…. like EVER.  Truly, I am so so impressed.  I have also swatched their other palettes that contain shimmers and glitters, which also are super pigmented.  Glitter and shimmer shades have also been amazing in K-beauty, so you are pretty much set with any brands you choose.

Pro:
-silky/ buttery texture
-very blendable
-super pigmented

Con:
No complaints at all

Stars given out of 5:

Overall thoughts:
I think I have gushed over these two palettes enough and hopefully, I have convinced you enough to get yourself your own palette because you truly need this in your life.  From people who love bold looks to just an everyday wearer of eyeshadows, every single person can use these in their collection.  They are truly that amazing and for the retail price of $38.25 usd on Olive Young, I think this is a reasonable price!  It would be even better if you catch it on sale.  I’ve seen these on Amazon Prime Day sales for much less too.  You won’t regret them if you get it! ?
