Skinfood Carrot carotene calming water pad reviewIf you didn’t know already, one of Korea’s hottest trending products right now is toner pads.  Not only can you incorporate it into your skincare routine with a simple wipe down after your cleanser, but Korean girlies and even professional makeup artists have also been using them as spot sheet masks before makeup.  This is quite clever and works well since it takes less time and effort than using a whole sheet mask and these come in bulk packaging.  Skinfood’s carrot carotene calming water pad is one of the bestselling toner pads and even won first place in Glowpick’s consumer report for the mid-2023 awards.  With all that buzz surrounding this product, let’s test it out and see if it is worth all the hype!

Skinfood carrot carotene calming water pad reviewProduct packaging:
Out of all the toner pads I have tried in the past, the Skinfood carrot carotene calming water pad is the biggest jar.  The packaging is quite bulky, so if you have limited space, you better make space!  This comes in a simple jar packaging with a twist-off lid. I’m not sure if it is just my lid, but I sometimes find the lid hard to twist off.  I do get it to come off sometimes, and sometimes it takes a little longer.

Skinfood carrot water pad reviewIn one jar, it comes with 60 pads and they are HUGE!!  I was going to buy these when I was in Korea, however, my suitcase wouldn’t allow it.  Not only is the jar big, but the cotton pads are super fluffy too.

Skinfood carrot carotene calming water padsTexture/ Finish:
The Skinfood carrot carotene calming water pads are cotton pads with a waffle pattern.  They are the thickest, softest cotton pads I have ever tried and you can actually peel the pads into two and use them as a quick spot mask too.  I was thinking that these are so tick and so fill of essence, I feel bad just using it as a quick wipe down to get my toner onto my face.  I did rip them in half, not peel them into two full circles.  I was foolish, but now I know.

Skinfood carrot water pad reviewNot to mention, these are vegan formulas too!  With one swipe on the face, you can feel a chilling, cooling, and soothing feeling right away.  This was god sent throughout the heatwave over the last two weeks.  I did notice my face feeling less hot and it subsided a bit of my redness too.  I totally get why this is such a beloved product

Skinfood carrot carotene calming water pad reviewThis is going to be the most useless and worst demonstration of the toner pads, but here’s my bare skin.

Skinfood carrot toner pad reviewAnd here is after.  The texture of the essence is very lightweight, absorbs into the skin quickly, and leaves the skin hydrated ever so slightly.  It is just enough where my skin thirst has been quenched.  I can definitely see all skin types enjoying this product.

Fragrance?:
There is a light floral fragrance but it isn’t strong.  Smell-o-scale: 5/10 in terms of how strong it is and the fragrances fade right after application.

Pro:
-softest cotton ever
-soothing/ calming essence
-huge cotton pads which you can split in two
-multi-functional

Con:
-lid kind of sucks (but I’ll get over it)

Repurchase?:
Heck yes!

Stars given out of 5:
?????

Overall thoughts:
It has been a long long time since toner pads have impressed me.  This Skinfood carrot carotene calming water pad has definitely lived up to its name and hype.  They are gigantic, super soft, multi-use, and it is soaked with so much essence.  I can definitely see why it has been reigning on top of the charts.  These can also be used with all skin types too!  Overall I give this a holy grail status and I’ll definitely look into repurchasing in the future after I’m done with these 60 pads.
