I haven’t gone out of my way to buy anything from Tatcha because, quite frankly, I thought of them as a company that was taking advantage of the success of Kbeauty.

However, I was pleasantly surprised with this primer.

The box is nice. Ingredients are fairly good. I hardly see any fillers. Cute note. Quality control tape on the bottle.

The bottle feels very light and the cap feels solid.

The cap pops off easily and snaps back on securely. This is what 1.5 pumps look like. I would say one pump was definitely enough for my entire face. I applied it everywhere, including my undereyes and eyelid.

It has a Demi-matte finish – it’s not completely matte and not glowy; it leaves a very natural-looking finish but it did take away some of the dewiness I had going on before applying it.

Full face of makeup on top (minus blush/bronzer/lipstick).

It was easy to apply all over my face, was not streaky, and absorbed very quickly onto my skin. There was no difference in application of my BB cream over the primer – it went on just as smoothly with or without this primer. After having put on the BB cream over it, I really do feel like it’s a super skin-like finish, because I feel that it hardly even affected application. However, I will say it did seem to have a blurring effect on my pores around my nose and cheeks.

I used this for 8 hours and this is the result at the end of the day!

It did really well for 8 hours! Usually at this point, my mascara and eyeliner as well as any dark eyeshadow near the outer corners of my eyes start to smear – but my eyes and undereyes seem completely unaffected! I do like this!! I think this would be a great primer for my work (as a nurse) since I don’t have any opportunities for touching up or fixing smears throughout the day. Because of the issues with smearing/smudging after hours of work at the hospital, I actually stopped bothering to wear makeup to work a few months ago. This primer inspires me to give it another go!

I also notice there’s less breakdown of the makeup on my face itself – usually I get gradual increases in glow throughout the day due to natural oil production and sometimes see makeup rub off or crease near the end of the day, but my makeup still looks great here. My skin is normal-type right now, so I’m not sure how this would hold up for those with more oily-type skin or dry-type skin, but for me this has worked really well!

Overall, I’m glad I did got to try this product, and I will definitely keep using it! I have to say, I actually like this primer a lot better than the Tarte primer that I bought. I’m surprised!
