At the beginning of 2020, I was excited for many things, and one of those was the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. For the first time in my life, I would be in the city that would host the Olympic Games. I even had a job booked for the Olympics, which had become a dream of mine ever since Tokyo was chosen to host the 2020 games. Although COVID-19 dramatically changed the course of events, pushing the Olympics back an entire year among many other things, I would still like to believe that there was a bit of good that came out of it. On the opening day of the Olympics, I noticed how normal the streets of Ginza were in the afternoon as I headed to the restaurant where I would have lunch with my girlfriends. If it had been 2020, I don’t think anyone in Tokyo would have had the luxury of going outside in the city like any normal day assuming there would’ve been swarms of people and tourists everywhere.

And on that opening day of the Olympic Games, I was able to visit the OMEGA Sky Lounge in Ginza with my girlfriends, a luxury treat for us during these trying times. As you may know, OMEGA has been the Official Timekeeper of the Olympics since 1932. Let me share with you the gorgeous lounge space they prepared for VIP guests for Olympic viewings, as well as their historical and beautiful timepieces on display.

The OMEGA Lounge, which was located on the 14th floor of the Nicolas G. Hayek Center, was the perfect setting to view OMEGA’s gorgeous timepieces and to view the Olympic Games live on television. Both terraces provided a scenic view of Ginza. I actually visited the first day of the Olympics with my girlfriends, and also a week later with another friend. The mini bonsai garden on the terrace was a favorite amongst my friends and I – being able to experience something traditionally Japanese in the city can be pretty rare these days.

I appreciate OMEGA for providing a safe and luxurious space for influencers to spend during the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, and for the amazing hospitality. We only took off our masks during photos and while partaking food and beverages.

Did you do anything special during this year’s Olympics? Let me know in the comments!
