Their Latest Sushi Mastro Nikkei Flagship interior is very vibrant. Came from its original business concept as South American and Japanese inspired food. With this special blend, they work with a local artist to bring their concept to live. Its a comfy dining area and on weekend, it is constantly fully book on certain hours. Best to make reservation before heading over.
Starting off, what caught my attention is their mocktails. That really look and taste like cocktails which is very impressive.
The Romero Sandia @ RM13.80 perfect for our hot weather. Serve in tiki-style with apple cider, watermelon, and rosemary. Smoked cinnamon bring hint of smokiness nice aroma into the drink. Thirst quenching.
The Yuzu Sour @ RM13.80 – a mocktail equivalent of the Pisco sour, channeling white grapes with yuzu and house-made spice syrup.
when you see this, It link me back to Sushi Mastro. This is a perfect simple combination of Sashimi of Mango and Salmon.. Nikkei Salmon Mango @ RM 62 (as they are using Norwegian salmon) drench with shoyu-marinated ikura and fresh mango slices.
a mouth full of bursting flavors from ikura, soy sauce, mango. Love the simple sweet savory taste.
Ikejime Sashimi @ RM 30 this is surprisingly good ( 2 cuts each) – golden snapper,
malabar snapper which both is local breed fish. . . Little did I know can it turn to sashimi. meat texture is nice, clean and fragrant. just need a little dip fresh wasabi and hint of soy sauce to bring up the freshness of the fish.
for a fusion Peruvian mix, the surprise element is actually the base sauce. Sukoshi, Scallop & Seabass, @ RM 52 serve with 2 Hokkaido Scallop, ikeji golden snapper, aji amarillo sauce, quinoa and truffle oil. Refreshing taste, with hint of herbs and creamy texture, nice end of truffle that is not over powering that brings the mouthful nice balance of flavour. The Montana Chirashi – Seafood Shirashizushi @ RM75. Sushi Mastro best seller. Most of the diner will certainly end this as one of the order in their table. Packed with salmon, hamachi, hon maguro, ama ebi, unagi, ikura, tobiko, barramundi and red snapper on furikake rice. A dish that perfectly fit into our grams. I was caught in surprise that the base of the bowl still fit with rice and the ingredients actually quite generous. Every bite is a nice bite of flavours when you mix well. Bursting little saltiness from tobiko, fragrance garlic rice, with with raw cabbage lighten the flavours. Nice fish texture comes from salmon and unagi cube. Portion is best to share as I also consider above average. I would say it is good. Recommended.
this Wagyu Yakiniku Don @ RM 140 is Japanese Miyazaki wagyu at 100gm serve with chef special Yakiniku sauce with hidden Garlic Rice at the bottom. It is serve rare and torch burn right infront of you to make it slightly charred and grill. The thin cut wagyu is amazingly good, brings a nice slight umami taste on the top layer of wagyu and topped it with special sauce, its perfect pairing. Hint of sweet and texture of meat is a bite of satisfaction. Garlic rice at the base is simple and cook with wok hei.
Sushi Surtidas @ RM 198 – 16 types of specialty sushi. – Miyazaki A5 Wagyu, Salmon, Hamachi, Akami, Otoro, Hokkaido Scallop, Unagi, Ama Ebi, Ikejime Golden Snapper, Ikejime Malabar, Inari, Tamago, Gunkan Tobiko, Gunkan Ikura, Gunkan Spicy Tuna, Gunkan Spicy Salmon.
Their latest crowd favorite is Japanese sukiyaki served with sliced Argentinian Angus striploin beef, mushrooms, vegetables, tofu, onion, and egg on the side. @ RM55Nice thins beef slice you just need a quick 3-8 seconds in the hot boiling soup to get the nice texture to your liking. Remember to dig with egg for more flavourful flavours. Love the soup base as it is salty enough for me and the fragrance of the soup is to my liking.
This is a perfect ending, paring, their signature Graham Cake @ RM 20, with cream cheese, crackers with mixture of fruits and light cracker in between. goes very well with Te de Bayas @ RM 13.80 Berry Tea, Gula Melaka and spice. combination. A nice palate cleanser at the end with a satisfyingly meal.
Certainly do not mind to come back again for fusion Japanese Food. Pretty well balance in flavour.
