Kei Rop Pi Cafe ?????? is a new spot where you can find plenty of popular, delicious Penang hawker dishes in one space. The name is simply a translation from Hokkien, which means "roadside cafe" (refers to street food). The Kopitiam gathers all popular Penang hawker dishes on their menu, notable ones include Michelin Selected Misai Jawa Mee, Tiger Char Koay Teow etc. Apart from the hawker fare, the Kopitiam also offers some classic Malaysian-Western dishes as well as some Chinese stir fries. The place is air-conditioned and offers an al-fresco space for those who prefer outdoorsy ambiance; a comfortable space to enjoy some delicious Penang hawker food.

Mee Jawa (Rm 10)

Mushroom Pan Mee (Rm 10.90)

Hokkien Mee (Rm 11.90)

Nan Yang Kopi O (Rm 3.60) and Teh Susu (Rm 4.50)

We had the Michelin-Selected Misai Jawa Mee and it was good. The sauce was beautifully crafted, it was good on its own but even better with the addition of the Prawn Cracker. The Prawn Cracker had the right thickness, not overly thin but not too thick, just nice to go with the sauce. The Mushroom Pan Mee was not too shabby either, the broth was flavorful and comforting, though we would prefer the noodles to carry a better texture, we thought it was a comfort dish that we would not mind eating again. The Hokkien Mee was a small disappointment, the broth was insufficient, affecting the overall eating experience. The flavor was there but they could be more generous with the broth.
