Cloverwood Senior Living had a “tea-riffic” idea, combining a summer afternoon tea for residents with a back to school supplies drive! Residents who donated school supplies were treated to a special event featuring a variety of assorted finger sandwiches, cookies, hot tea and freshly brewed iced tea as a thank you for giving back.
Thirty back packs and a variety of school supplies were collected, including notebooks, binders, pencils, erasers, glue, crayons, markers and much more. The school supplies were delivered to Tom Wahl’s in Brighton for its annual back to school drive, and will be distributed to several Rochester city schools through the United Way of Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes.
“We know that our residents care about making a difference, and Cloverwood is proud to support programs like the school supply drive,” says Richard Finn, Executive Director. “Throughout the year, our residents enthusiastically engage in ‘Cloverwood Gives Back’ community service events, and this is a wonderful example of their caring spirit!” Cloverwood residents have also knitted mittens and hats for the Golisano Children’s Hospital, gathered donations for Ukrainian war victims, and collected items for the Pirate Toy Fund.
