Welcome to eclipse season! We have two eclipses this month, the first on October 14th, a new Moon solar eclipse at 21° Libra and the second on October 28th, a full Moon lunar eclipse at 5° Taurus.
The first will be visible in a large part of the western United States and has more difficult aspects associated with it. There is an inconjunct aspect from a retrograde Uranus at 21° Taurus and a waning square of Mars in early Scorpio to Pluto at 27° Capricorn.
These are tense and volatile aspects so use caution in your travels and worldly affairs during the second week of October.
Both eclipses occur in signs that are ruled by Venus so there may be financial matters that need attention or a course correction for the country since the eclipse is visible here in the US.
If you have planets in your natal chart around 21° of cardinal signs or 5° of the fixed signs you can look forward to big changes in the coming year. Lucky me, I have two planets in Libra within 1° as well as one in Taurus within 1° so the adventure continues to unfold in my piece of paradise.
Pluto goes into direct motion on October 10th at 27° Capricorn 53’ so he is quite powerful for the next two months. This is the last pass of Pluto over the 27th and 28th degrees of Capricorn for another 248 years so there may be more scandals coming up for big business and government that demand rectification so positive transformation can occur.
Neptune is retrograde at 25° Pisces and is opposed by Mercury in Virgo for the first couple of days of the month. Plans can go a little wonky with Neptune and Mercury because people forget things, misunderstand a situation or just communicate poorly. The aspect doesn’t last long, only a couple of days.
Venus moves forward in Leo through October 10th and then enters Virgo where she has to reluctantly deal with details, discipline and precision, ugh, and she makes an opposition with Saturn, too, so the Leo party is indeed over. Plus, Virgo energy is not really her jam.
Mars moves towards a conjunction with the south node through October 7th so there may be things that don’t work out as you would like them to as your energy may get diverted elsewhere. Mars is weak in the sign of Libra so there’s also the indecision of that vibe to cope with. Mars is more comfortable in signs where he can take quick and decisive action while Libra ruminates and delays to create harmony and that is not really Mars’ jam.
Jupiter is retrograde at 14° Taurus and goes back to 11° at month’s end where it will be opposed by Mars and Mercury, which is more of a testy argumentative aspect than a big upsetting one. Still, things can go haywire if you are not careful with your words. You’ve been warned.
Saturn is still retrograde at 1° Pisces and goes back to 0° at the end of the month where he stations before he goes direct on November 4th at 0° Pisces 30’. Mutable signs have the opportunity to rectify and correct their path forward for the next few months after Saturn is in direct motion.
Uranus is retrograde at 22° Taurus and squares Venus during the first week of the month but then makes a trine aspect to Venus at month’s end at the same time Venus moves into a trine with Pluto. That informs us that financial aspects improve at the end of October. There will also be less tension in personal relationships as well.
Read your Sun sign and Rising sign for best results:
Aries — March 21-April 19: Your drive to achieve is pretty much thwarted until after October 7th when your ruling planet moves away from its conjunction with the south node. Put your energy into planning and doing smaller tasks rather than tackle large important projects for the first week of October. Relationships demand some attention as Libra rules your 7th house and there could be a less than contented partner at this time. The 7th house is where the October 14th eclipse happens for you. Money matters will need attention by the month’s end as your partner’s income may fluctuate. Take some time off around the 26th and 27th as these are days you should just enjoy life and revel in what and who is around you.
Taurus — April 20-May 20: With Venus in Leo in a square aspect to Uranus in Taurus the first part of the month, there’s an erratic or scattered energy to almost everything you try to accomplish. But who says things always have to occur on a linear path? Do your best and just keep plugging away with things as they come up. You might want to rest a bit more during this time just to provide a break from the nervous stimulation that Uranus puts on the physical system. The upcoming eclipse is also a taxing vibration, particularly in the Venus ruled sign of Libra. The lunar vibes of the 1st, 2nd, 28th, 29th and AM hours of the 30th are in your favor.
Gemini — May 21-June 21: Your ruling planet, Mercury, is in an opposition aspect to Neptune right now, quite possibly making it difficult for you to focus your attention for any length of time. This shall pass in the next 3 days and you will get your mojo back on track mentally. Saturn is powerfully stationed at the top of your solar chart so taking care of business or rectifying a situation that is not correct is in order this month. Try not to worry so much, it will all be Ok if you do the right things now. Use the positive vibes of the 3rd, 4th, AM hours of the 5th, PM hours of the 30th and the 31st to get your way.
Cancer — June 22-July 23: With Mars transiting your solar 4th house along with the south node, there’s a bit of chaos or disruption in the usual agenda in your home. There’s a possibility of a move or some major house repairs causing the problems so just continue to carry on as things will significantly improve in about a week. Mercury’s opposition with Neptune makes it hard to follow a schedule so just do the next thing and then do the next thing. It might help to discuss your situation with friends or colleagues who may have a different take on how this work out. Your best days are the PM hours of the 5th, the 6th and the 7th.
Leo — July 24-August 23: Venus, still gracing your sign and shining brilliantly in the predawn sky, is giving you some optimism and grace about yourself, your professional life and your health situation. However, there is a situation brewing regarding either short distance travel or a communication glitch this first week of the month, so if plans change or something gets canceled, don’t try to force it. It will rearrange itself after the 14th when the eclipse energy subsides. Use the positive vibes on the 8th, 9th and AM hours of the 10th to achieve your goals.
Virgo — August 24-September 22: If you feel like you are slogging through a foggy, boggy landscape, you are, with Mercury opposing Neptune right now. It moves on fairly quickly, within 3 days, so by the 4th you will feel more like you are on top of things. I wouldn’t call Virgos control freaks but they do like things to run on time and to maintain their schedules. Venus enters your sign on the 10th so after that happens, you will feel more gracious and relaxed as you make things work to your liking. Your best days are the PM hours of the 10th, the 11th and the 12th so schedule in some pleasure.
Libra — September 23-October 22: Both the Sun and Mars are transiting your sign but Mars is getting close to the south node which can make for a disappointing event or some sort of loss. Chalk it up to bad timing or something that wasn’t meant to be. The eclipse on the 14th further shakes things up as it happens at 21 degrees of Libra in your solar 1st house. Venus helps you by the end of the month as you move into new territory where intriguing new possibilities appear on the horizon. Good days to ask for what you want are the 13th, 14th and AM hours of the 15th.
Scorpio — October 23-November 22: With Mars in Libra transiting your solar 12th house and about to meet up with the transiting south node, you have a bit of a stalemate situation going on. Mars is hamstrung in the last degrees of the 12th house and cannot break through the murkiness of the south node’s vibe until he transits into your sign on the 13th, just prior to the Solar eclipse. So, the first two weeks of this month don’t offer any opportunity to accomplish much. It’s a sharpen your tools kind of vibe so that’s what you do. The PM hours of the 15th, the 16th and the 17th can help you move out of these doldrums as the lunar vibes are on your side.
Sagittarius — November 23-December 20: Your ruling planet, Jupiter, is retrograde and transiting through your solar 6th house of health, habits, work and service. Along with Uranus in Taurus it is making an earth trine to both Mercury and Pluto, creating some stability in your current situation. The problem with that is that you are bored with it all. Where’s the fun, action and excitement? Venus starts to energize your 10th house of public image by the end of the month but until Mars gets in your sign at the end of November, you may not feel like making much of an effort. However, do try to enjoy the positive vibes of the 18th and 19th as these are your best days.
Capricorn — December 21-January 20: With the Sun and Mars at the top of your chart but Saturn, your ruler, slowing down to station by the end of the month in your solar third house, you may be experiencing a lack of motivation or drive for accomplishment. This is temporary because both the Sun and Mars are weak in Libra and Mars is approaching the south node, which can be a loss or some kind of odd chaos or confusion about your purpose right now. Take it easy for the first two weeks of the month and get through that eclipse, which happens in your solar 10th house, by the way. That could indicate some major changes in how you do your business are going to be explored and implemented within the next 6 to 12 months. That is exciting and will break through your current state of ennui. Best days to make things happen are the 20th and 21st.
Aquarius — January 21-February 19: With Saturn slowing down to station at the end of the month, you also have a bit of a glitch in your mojo. This stagnant situation improves after the October 14th eclipse so pay attention to what motivates you after that time. Venus opposes Saturn right before the eclipse which can make one feel bereft of joy or experience a lack of funds which can depress the mood. Life always and I mean, always, has its ups and downs. You will feel up again, quite possibly by the end of the month! Use the positive vibes of the 22nd and 23rd to do something fun and uplifting for yourself.
Pisces — February 20-March 20: With Saturn slowing down to station at the end of the month in your sign and Mars about to meet up with the south node in your solar 8th house there is a bit of a blockage in your system right now. Not much you can do about it other than wait it out. Things improve after the first eclipse but don’t really pick up speed until about the middle of November when Saturn moves forward its direct motion phase. So just relax and enjoy the respite from having to try too hard or accomplish much. Your best days are the 24th and 25th.
