We have requested waivers on two-way forward Miles Norris
— Atlanta Hawks (@ATLHawks) December 22, 2023Norris is an undrafted rookie forward out of UC Santa Barbara who had been signed to a two-way contract on July 6 this past summer, appearing with the 2023 Summer League team in Las Vegas as well as with the senior team this preseason.
Although he never logged a single minute of regular season playing time with the Hawks, he has been a major contributor to a College Park Skyhawks team that is currently 10-6 with the second-best defensive rating (101.4 points per 100 possessions). He is averaging 9.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 27.0 minutes per game there, albeit with a less than stellar shooting efficiencies.
In a corresponding move, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports that guard/wing Vit Krejci will be signed to the open two-way spot in Norris’ place.
The Atlanta Hawks are signing guard Vit Krejci on a two-way contract, sources tell ESPN. He’s been playing with Iowa of the G League.
— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) December 22, 2023Krejci spent last season in Atlanta but could only see sporadic time on the court for the Hawks. In 29 games in 2022-23, he averaged 1.2 points, 0.9 rebounds, and 0.6 assists per game on 5.7 minutes a contest.
