Our family had an extended family cruise planned for Thanksgiving... The post Our day at Disney World | Mommy and Me Monday | 720th ed appeared first on Really, Are You Serious?.
Our family had an extended family cruise planned for Thanksgiving break, but with a little wiggle room on the start and end, and having to drive to Port Canaveral, Mr. Serious made the suggestion to add a day at Disney World.
And, we decided to go for it. Having not been since 2019, I had a lot to learn about Genie+, Lightning Lanes and more! But, I figured it out.
The day we drove from Atlanta to Orlando, we checked into our hotel, jumped on the Disney bus and found our way around transportation. We rode over to the Skyliner and hoped on and rode it.
We went to (the entrance of) Hollywood Studios, Epcot and the walked around the Boardwalk and then took the boat back to Hollywood Studios and bus back to our hotel. And called it a day, because we were getting up early the next morning for an early bus ride and rope drop at Magic Kingdom.
At 5:45am we were ready and first in line for the bus ride to Magic Kingdom!
We decided with the way the passes worked and lightning lane, etc that we were going to take a quick walk at rope drop and head to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
Which was a bit of a gamble because the ride was down and we ended up waiting a little over an hour before the ride started working. We missed a couple other rope drop rides, but also, finally made it on Mine Train!
Can you tell we were excited?
B was telling me to put my phone away! (She was probably right!) but I realized this was her first time she finally got to ride it because she previously was too small, or the ride was broken. (She did ride it once in my belly!)
The ride from the picture actually got all 6 of us in one snap which I thought was pretty cool!
Then we went to Barnstormer. Its such a fun little, quick roller coaster that we all enjoy!
We had to stop and grab a family castle picture.
And, got one for mom and dad, too!
There was also a visit to Captain Jack Sparrow on Pirates!
We stopped at Beasts castle to get a picture. It was very sunny!
We did other things (which I dont recall), and then grabbed lunch and had a couple rides on the Tomorrowland Speedway.
Then, we were off to Epcot for a couple more rides. When we came out of Soarin, the sun had already set and Spaceship Earth was a colorful and festive.
We also walked through Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana. Its a really cute, well-thought out area with tons of water exhibits and learning spots. And Te fiti.
When we saw a Disney photographer without a line, we asked him to grab a family picture for us with Nemo. But, ooops, we blocked out Nemo, so Dory it is.
Then we headed over to Hollywood Studios to do a little Star Wars-ing and were able to hop on Alien Saucer with a lull in the long line to end our night of rides.
Mr. Serious requested one more picture with a Christmas tree, and we were all pretty tired at this point. Three parks in one day with a 5am wake-up will do that to you.
The next morning, those of us that had a run, got our own version of a runDisney run in, then we showered and packed up to head to Port Canaveral to meet the rest of the family and get our cruise on.
