What’s it all about:

London, 1988. Young prostitute, Devlin Hunter is distraught when her best friend Roxy is found murdered, pushing her back into drug addiction. After a snuff film is uncovered depicting Roxy’s death by a masked killer, the police struggle for leads.

Devlin stumbles upon a connection between the snuff film and a local adult entertainment studio and infiltrates the company by going undercover as an actress. She tracks down those responsible and seduces each of them before exacting her brutal revenge. However, the police are soon on her trail and it becomes a race against time to kill them before she is caught.

My Thoughts:

Never has a book had quite an explosive introduction as this one had, there are definitely mature themes contained in this one, such as adult films, child abuse and sexual abuse, so if you are triggered by any of these, take care or pass this one by.

At just 3 hours and 3 mins long you might think that you couldn’t fit much story into it, but you would be wrong my friends , there is an amazing amount squeezed into that time frame, plot characters and violence who doesn’t love that combo.

The story moved along at a nippy pace i loved the simplicity yet underlying complexity of the characters obviously as it was only a few hours long there was so much more that could have been explained but thats what we have imagination for right?, who knows maybe we will get a sequel?.

The Narrator for this destructive little tale was Maisie Chalk a very relaxing voice through the bloodshed and chaos, i hope to hear narrate more in the future.

I really enjoyed this book, if your looking for a quick shot of action/thriller and great storytelling then you wont be disappointed with Street Siren.
