One of my favourite colours is the colour of the season. Red is back in a big way sartorially so here is a look at how I have worn red in recent years. It’s time to bring it back!

THE LITTLE RED DRESS

Starting strong with one of my favourite dresses from Realisation Par, this one has been a favourite of mine for years. A cute silk number, it is flirty, fun and bright. I love to bring this one out for events, date nights or any time I want to wear something bold. Realisation Par is still a brand I love to turn to for seasonless designs that transcend trends. My collection grows each year and I still wear every piece regularly, the styles are fun, well-made, beautiful and timeless. The brand features red regularly within each drop and has done so for years. There are so many gorgeous red looks to choose from, including dresses, skirts, tops, a cardigan and more.

Right now, Realisation Par has a flash 25% off sale. Use the code ECLIPSE and score a cheeky discount. They may skip Cyber Week this year, having shared this flash sale a couple of weeks early, so bear that in mind and don’t put it off if there is something on your wish list. My blog post with All of My Realisation Par Collection is here. It includes sizing details, reviews and more info.

A RED LIPSTICK

Not sure about a full bright red look? Easy, adopt a red lipstick! I love a pop of red when I need to brighten up my face, mood and look. Red lipsticks are certainly a weakness of mine, I have amassed quite a collection. Below, shop a few of my favourites. Not confident with how to apply? My pro tip is to apply a bold red lip with a lip brush, going slow. Pay attention! Still in doubt? Opt for a red lip oil or tinted gloss. If you are like me and love a true bold red, matte lipstick is perfect but make sure to apply a nourishing lip balm or treatment overnight after wearing. Matte lipsticks are highly drying and can wreak havoc on your lips delicate skin.

A SIMPLE RED DRESS

I have a few red dresses in my wardrobe, most are printed ones but there are a couple of plain red options. The best thing about wearing these is the feeling it gives you. You know it will naturally draw the eye, so you have to feel prepared to be confident. Of course, this ends up giving you a kind of energy that is hard to beat. I love an understated slinky red slip dress, or something more fitted can look and feel amazing too. This cotton dress is an oldie from Jac & Jack, one of my favourite Australian designers.

If you are looking for a lot of inspiration, head over to this Shopbop edit, which is all about, you guessed it, red. My favourites from this edit are below, I could not help but want to share these. One of each, please!!

A RED TOP

Be it a turtle neck, or slinky cami like this one, a knitted tee, oversized sweater, knitted cardigan, printed blouse, you name it, it’ll look great with your jeans. Go for any essential blue wash, a cream or a black and the look will pop with that touch of red. Not up for denim? A silky slip skirt, black mini or even grey high-waisted trousers would work a treat. I’ve styled this look above really casually, as I was just headed out for brunch but you can also dress this up, taking the jeans and a fancy top approach.

A RED BAG

Okay, I wasn’t initially going to share a burgundy red colour in here but I thought I’d best demonstrate that not every red has to be a bright punchy tomato hue. I adore this By Far bag in a burgundy red. I wear it as one of my main handbags on rotation. The colour is so pretty and goes with so many others that it has become a staple in my wardrobe. If this is more your style, I highly recommend taking a break from black in favour of a burgundy bag. Below, see my red bag edit.

A RED SUIT OR PANTS SET

Finally, I had to include a red top and pants or suit moment. How stunning is an all-red power suit kind of moment? Unbeatable. I wish I still had this outfit, we shot this one years ago and it still stands as such a fun look for an event. Keep it simple and you can not go wrong.

WILL YOU WEAR RED?

It’s been a colour I’ve loved, then I left alone for a few years. Will you wear red? It is everywhere this season and it will stay around for a while to come. I am genuinely happy to see it come back again. I missed it. Only wearing red lipstick or burgundy more muted hues was lovely, but red is fun! Let me know below if this is one thing you would never wear or if you are happy to see it.

It’s been a long time between regular blog posts but I miss this platform so much and our community. I’ve set myself the goal to post once a week again and I would love to see you back here soon. Follow me on Instagram or even TikTok if you want to see more of my day-to-day postings, and I’ll be back here and over on YouTube weekly if all goes to plan.
